Why he’s running: Addlesperger said that based on his service on metropolitan districts and watching various city councils, he knows what to expect as a council member and what Castle Pines will be facing in the future with more applications for annexation in the next several years. He said he knows the exact questions to ask and that he doesn’t see the advantage of the city annexing any more land unless there’s an advantage to it.
He said the current city council is misrepresenting the care and upkeep of the existing infrastructure, which is in need of repair and the only thing that’s been done is patch roads that are chipping and falling apart. He said the roads are 30 years old and have reached their maximum usefulness.
“Just patching holes and sorts doesn’t really solve the problem, and it’s unfair for the city not to have a plan,” Addlesperger said.
He said the city also is not enhancing the city’s commercial sector with vacancies along two strip malls, and he wants to find out what the city can do to benefit commercial businesses.
