Dear Editor,
Theresa Martens has my support and my vote for Centennial City Council. I did not choose to support Theresa because she is my next-door neighbor and I have known her for 10 years. In fact, I had no idea if I was going to support her when I found out she was running for City Council.
Even though we are friends, we share different views. She is conservative, I am extremely liberal. She is Christian, I am Jewish. But after listening to Theresa, I heard something that I also value. I heard her dedication. Her dedication to her family, her church, her neighborhood, her city. Theresa truly cares about the future of Centennial and wants to “maintain its integrity.” She cares so much because this is where her community lives and she wants to see it grow in the right direction. Her dedication is what drives her to be a successful leader in this community.
When I listen to Theresa, I hear her energy and genuine determination to make Centennial a better place to live. Unlike her opponent, I also believe she is extremely knowledgeable about issues happening in her city and is aware and receptive to the concerns people have. Her stance on keeping taxes lower, the repair and maintenance of our roads, and being mindful of retail expansion are issues that Theresa cares about. These are all issues that are also important to my family.
For all these reason, I support Theresa in keeping Centennial a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
Megan Gardner
